The comments that were posted on the boxee blog were an inspiration. Lots of passion and also some very sophisticated analysis of the powers and interests in play. It got me thinking that it would be great to work together with our users on building the pitch to content partners as to why they should embrace boxee. I created this Wiki, which any user can edit, so it can be a collaborative effort.
Feel free to edit/remove/add any page; it is open to everyone.
Looking forward to seeing how it will turn out.

Has the convention for capitalizing boxee already been established if boxee is the first word in a sentence? I have just been leaving it lower case boxee if it starts a sentence.

@kylemurphey The purpose of this Wiki is to legitimize Boxee to Hulu's content partners. Absolutely, you should capitalize it.

@Fjones the only reason I hesitate is because I think it has pretty much been established that the boxee brand name is always lower case. Just look at the boxee.tv website it is almost always written in all caps, or all lower.

@kylemurphey There is a difference between hesitation and blatantly changing the capitalization of the content of the site. Please do not change the capitalization of my content to reflect your hipster sense of internet trends. Boxee is a legitimate company, and I feel we should address them in a way that shows respect.

@FJones, sorry, didn't mean to offend, I would like to get some one from boxee's opinion. What ever is decided should be kept homogeneous throughout the entirety of the document I have no vested interest in either way, I was just going by the fact that the CEO, Avner, never capitalizes it... however he actually doesn't capitalize much of anything. Feel free to capitalize it, however if you are going to do so, I would recommend being thorough and changing it on every other page too (it isn't too hard at this point since there isn't much content.)

@kylemurphey I agree completely and no offense was taken. I figure it's better if we work together rather than bicker over petty capitalization.

@kindwarrior made some good points in forums.boxee.tv. Once this document is completed, I that that it should be reviewed with legal counsel to cover off any remaining legal angles + add state Boxee's legal position. Hulu cannot discriminate based on what browser one uses to access their site so why should they be able to restrict the rights of those why use Boxee? They may not come to the table for a formal partnership (although it is in their interests to collaborate) but they cannot and should not be allowed to discriminate against Boxee users who access the content just like anyone else would with a web browser.

Actually, this is a convention of the English language--not boxee. I can't think of a time when it's appropriate to begin a sentence with a lower case letter.

My girlfriend, Melody, just showed me this on the boxee wiki FAQ. So take it for what it is worth.
"why are your texts all written in lower-case?
it is our one and only corporate policy, but we're having a hard time complying with it, which makes our stuff a bit inconsistent. please let us know if you find stuff on the site that is Capitalized. we'll give it the highest priority to fix it.
if you're offended by our lack of adherence to proper grammar rules then we sincerely apologize. "

@kylemuphey I tip my hat to you, sir, or should I say i tip my hat to you sir. I'm going to go through and correct all instances of boxee now. Thank you.

I guess I want to know one or two things. The first being where this pitch goes/how it is presented....(because as is, it obviously looks nothing like a business proposal.)
@FJones, @Kylemurphey, We'd obviously need grammatically correct sentences in a pitch though, wouldn't we?

Just my 0.02
If the boxee name (as a brand) is in lowercase, there is no reason to capitalize it at the beginning of a sentence. That is, only if that is the official, legitimate spelling of the name.
